Pastor Norman Wallace Scott, a third generation Baptist preacher, was born January 14, 1961 in Far Rockaway, NY to the late Reverend Dr. Howard Oliver Scott, Sr., and the late Sister Naomi Crawford Scott. At a young age, he received Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior and was baptized at the First Baptist Church, Far Rockaway, NY under the leadership of his father,
Dr. Scott. It was at the age of seven that he realized he was called and anointed by God to preach the gospel. At the age of twelve, he gave his trial sermon on
August 2, 1973. He received his license to preach on December 23, 1973. As a boy preacher he received many opportunities to exercise the gift God gave him. In September 1975, at the age of fourteen (14), he received an opportunity to preach for the Youth Ushers Annual Session for the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc. On June 29, 1977 he was ordained to full ministry at the age of sixteen by the First Baptist Church, Far Rockaway, NY, in conjunction with the Eastern Baptist Association of New York, Inc., becoming the youngest minister to be ordained under the ministry of the First Baptist Church, Far Rockaway, NY and to his knowledge, the youngest to be examined by the Advisory Council of Eastern Baptist Association. It was upon his ordination that he was appointed as the Youth Minister of the church with the responsibility of overseeing the youth ministry of the church.

•Director of Christian Education for the Hudson River Frontier Missionary Baptist Association of New York Inc.
•Member of the Board of Directors of the Whitney M. Young Jr. Health Center in Albany, NY.
•Assistant Pastor/Church Office Administrator of Canaan Missionary Baptist Church, Brooklyn, NY.
•Pastor of Mercy Seat Baptist Church, Brooklyn, NY.
•Associate Minister/Assistant to the Pastor of First Baptist Church, Far Rockaway, NY.
•Associate Minister of New Hope Institutional Baptist Church, Tarrytown, NY.
On May 6, 2006, Pastor Scott was called as the Pastor of the Rising Star Baptist Church, Jamaica, New York, small and young in size, but ready to meet the needs of the total person. Under his leadership, the RSBC membership has increased in number. The prayer service and bible study has also increased abundantly in spirit and attendance. Under Pastor Scott's direction, Rising Star has improved the church's landscaping, completed the renovation of the church's fellowship hall, met electric guidelines with Con Edison, upgraded the church's sound system, installed a new alarm system, handicap accessible ramp, a church website, and has recently built a brand new sound room, and has recently started a food ministry, “Missionaries In Harvest." Pastor Scott also provided Rising Star with the church's theme: "Rising In Spiritual Excellence" taken from Philippians 3:12-14. He is also President/CEO of NW Scott Ministries, a ministry on the move to empower, encourage, and enlighten the total person. Pastor Scott can be heard every Sunday at 9:00 PM on Internet Radio Station, "Rise Gospel Radio WRGR-DB." Pastor Scott presently serves as a member Eastern Baptist Association Board of Managers, Vice President-at-Large of the Eastern Baptist Association Congress of Christian Education, Area Vice President for the Empire Congress of Christian Education of the Empire Baptist Missionary Convention, Northeast Regional Coordinator for the Board of Evangelism of the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc., and is a Certified Teacher through the Division of Christian Education Accreditation and Credentials of the Sunday School Publishing Board of the National Baptist Convention, USA, Inc.
Pastor Scott is a man whom God has prepared for ministry from his childhood. He is the recipient of Diplomas from the Freedom Bible College and Seminary, Almeda University School of Theology, and an Honorary Doctor of Divinity Degree from the All Christian Bible College, Deer Park NY. He believes in the totality of the gospel being preached without respect of persons. He feels that if one is going to preach the gospel, he or she must also live the gospel he or she preaches.
He is married to Reverend Sherrill D. Scott, who is also an ordained minister of the Gospel. Together they have a blended family of two adult children, a son, Terrence, a daughter, Donna, a son-in-law, Howard, four grandchildren, Derek, Dana, Qwame, Zoe, and one great grandson, Joell. They reside in the State of New York in the City of Yonkers.
